Worry is Poison

Matthew 6:25-34

Do you realize that stress and worry can literally kill you? So it has taken the world at large a long time to actually acknowledge this fact. Scientist have confirmed that our mind has a certain control over us chemically. So when the bible tells you not to worry it is for practical reasons as well as spiritual reasons.

It is also nice to know that God knows what we need. He just wants us to seek Him first and those other things will be added. I guess knowing that someone has your back is comforting. If you have a bully at school, but your best friend is huge and a great fighter, you may not worry as much. If your best friend says, I'll take care of it for you, you really won't worry. It is like we have a big bad best friend that is willing to help us do anything. We don't have to worry about trivial things because those are taken care of. I think in order for you to be truly useful in the Kingdom, you need to be at a point where you leave those concerns to God.

God is a provider. In these economic times, it is easy to forget that we have a Creator and a Savior in our family. Once we are born again, we become a part of the royal family so to speak. God owns everything. If we are in need, He can and will provide. We forget that God knows the whole story from the beginning to the end. There is no need to worry because He knows. Since the book of Revelation gives us a detailed account of the end times and the future. He already knows what we are going to come up against and He is more than adequate. He is faithful.

Give your cares and concerns to Him. Worry is a poison to the soul. There is no need to buy into the deception that God has forgotten or lost you. He knows about those sparrows so I am surer than sure that He knows about you and your problems. Pray to Him about them and let Him handle it. He can handle it. I promise.
